For someone covered from head to toe in nearly 7,000 metallic piercings, one extra ring might not be anything particularly special. But the latest addition to Elaine Davidson's collection could be her most cherished ring yet, as the world's most pierced woman today married.
Miss Davidson, who at a recent count had an astonishing 6,925 piercings, tied the knot in Edinburgh, where she lives and runs a shop.
The 42-year-old was accompanied to a registry office in the Scottish capital wearing a white gown as well as pink and flowers around her hair.
And for the special occasion she naturally kept her trademark piercings all in place, along with green, yellow and blue paint markings on her face.
Her husband, Douglas Watson, who has no visible piercings, was dressed for the 35-minute ceremony in a dark blue suit with a blue shirt and tie.
She was also accompanied into Edinburgh Registry Office by two bridesmaids dressed in pink.
The Brazilian-born former nurse first broke the record for most piercings in May 2000, when a Guinness World Records official examined her and found 462 piercings on her body, including 192 on her face.
Miss Davidson has previously said she never removes the rings and studs, which she estimates weigh a total of around three kilos.
She also insists there is no pain involved in the piercing, and that she sleeps every night with every piercing still in place.
However, she revealed in 2009 that she doesn't like being pieced and suffers for her art.
She said in February 2009, when she had 6,005 piercings including 1,500 that are 'internal': 'I don't enjoy getting pierced, but to break the record you have to get to a high level.
'I wanted to break the record.
'My family don't even like tattoos or piercings.'
On her own website, Miss Davidson, who also sleeps on a bed of nails and has walked on fire and glass, says she enjoys extreme sports and theatre, but does not drink or smoke.

Astonished medics are trying to save the hands of tormented Zhang Chuanqiu who was chained so tightly in an illegal prison that his flesh grew over his shackles.
Zhang, 27, had been chained to a cowshed in Hunan, southern China, in 2005 after falling out with village officials over a loan to build his house.
But his chains had been so agonisingly tight that Zhang's own flesh began to absorb them.
"The only person who did not give up on me was my mother who waited for her time and rescued me," he explained.
Now Zhang is trying to raise the 1,000 GBP surgeons have told him he needs for an operation to remove the chains and save his hands from further infection.
"They cause me a lot of pain. They are always inflamed and ooze pus all the time. But we have no money so I have to rely on charity or the good heart of a hospital or doctor to save my hands," he said.

A Couple renews vows at zombie wedding proved romance really is dead – by renewing their vows at a zombie wedding.
Andy Monaghan and corpse bride Tracey shuffled down the aisle, before promising to care for each other ‘as we decay together’.
Tracey said: 'I promised to take my awful rotting husband and to love and care for you as we decay together so that your rotting, bloated corpse may live for eternity beside me, or until someone removes your head.'
The gruesome groom, 36, was then told: ‘You may eat the bride.’
Guests wore creepy costumes for the ceremony in Worcester, which included the couples' six-year-old son William, who was dressed up as a zombie best man.
Mrs Monaghan, 29, said: ‘I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s our fairytale wedding.’

A Two Legged Pig which can walk on two legs has become a local celebrity in China. The 10-month-old porker is known by villagers as "Zhu Jianqiang" (Strong-willed Pig) after it was born with only two front legs and learned to balance on them well enough to walk.
According to its owner, Wang Xihai, it was one of nine piglets born in a litter this January.
He said: "My wife asked me to dump it but I refused as it's a life. I thought I should give it a chance to survive and unexpectedly it survived healthy."
Several days after its birth Wang decided to train the two-legged piglet to walk by lifting it up by its tail.
He said: "I trained her for a while each day. After 30 days she can now walk upside down quite well."
Wang said since the birth of the pig, which currently weighs 50kg (110lbs), his home has been besieged by visitors.
A circus even offered to buy for the pig for a large sum but Wang refused to sell.
He said "She proved to us that no matter what form life is it should continue to live on. I won't sell it no matter how much the offer is."

Skin burning tattoo Weird Painful or scarification is involves scratching, etching, or superficially cutting designs, pictures, or words into the skin as a permanent body modification. Scars are most often formed by cutting or branding the skin. I’m not sure I’d be up for this one, some of them seem pretty cool I guess if they heal properly.
I you want to see a detailed image of what this looks like during the actual burning
These Tattoos are definately not for the weak hearted people..name says it all.
